Advanced Diploma in Psychodrama

The Northern School of Psychodrama runs a post graduate Advanced Diploma in Psychodrama. This is a full Psychotherapy training accredited by both the BPA and UKCP. Graduates of this course are entitled to register with UKCP as qualified psychotherapists.

The Advanced Diploma is a part-time training that takes a minimum of four years of structured learning. In addition, students submit a dissertation, usually during or soon after the final taught year. The course is modular and it is possible for students to use the first year to reflect on their  ability to make the long-term commitment to psychotherapy training. Students will be expected to undertake a number of  written projects each year, as well as meeting the requirements in relation to personal therapy and clinical practice.

The Northern School model of Psychodrama is underpinned by the Person Centred Approach and much of the theoretical input on the course will be drawn from the work of  Carl Rogers.  The Advanced Diploma costs £ 2395.00 a year for four years. There are other costs associated with training (such as travel, therapy, supervision and external training hours). Please ask for further information.

Diploma start dates January and September

Certificate in Psychodrama

The Northern School of Psychodrama offers an Advanced Diploma in psychodrama. We are now responding to the current demand for training in a more modular fashion by introducing the Certificate in Psychodrama. This Certificate will offer training to individuals who wish to use aspects of psychodrama as part of their working practice but who are not necessarily wanting to train to full Advanced Diploma level. This course will give participants skills and theoretical knowledge of many of the action techniques involved in psychodrama to add to their existing therapeutic skills both for group work and individual client work.

The Northern School of Psychodrama on completion will award a Certificate of attendance.

The course will comprise six weekends run over two years. Weekends can be chosen from the four open weekends, currently run each year by the Northern School. The course will be suitable for professionals including other arts therapists, counsellors, nurses, social workers, teachers and community workers.

The course would count as external hours should a participant choose to continue onto the full diploma with another training organisation or as APL with The Northern School (APL policy available on request).
